About Africa Wild Safaris and Your Host, Photographer Gregory Sweeney
Africa Wild Safaris is owned and managed by photographer Gregory Sweeney and his wife Karen. They are based in the US and travel to South Africa twice a year with his select small groups of photographers and guests. While on safari he is a teacher as well as a host and guide for the guests in a unique group of private reserves and nature conservancy. Gregory owns his own small lodge on the Conservancy, so you will be staying at his lodge or lodges owned by his friends and neighbors.
Gregory Sweeney is an avid traveler, teacher, conservationist, professional underwater photographer and wildlife photographer whose photography celebrates the wonders of the natural world. He has traveled the world photographing underwater and on land. He served as a Wildlife Biologist / Park Ranger for the National Park Service for many years and lived in New Zealand and traveled the Pacific, Europe, and North America. His work has won several awards and he is the author of Manatees: The Gentle Giants which celebrates the beauty of the endangered Florida Manatee. Gregory has been sharing the wonders of the South African wildlife with fellow travelers and photographers for many years.
